01/What we hunt

  1. 01

    Forgotten infrastructure

Hosts nobody remembers launching, DNS pointing at clouds nobody pays for, and the intern's test box from 2019. Still online. Still yours.

  2. 02

    Leaked secrets

API keys in client bundles, tokens in public repos, passwords in logs. Your build pipeline ships them to every visitor, on a one-year cache.

  3. 03

    Broken auth

Change the number in the URL, get someone else's invoice. You checked that the user was logged in. You did not check whose data it was.

  4. 04

    Open doors

Databases, consoles and caches on the public internet with no login. Free to anyone with a browser and five minutes.

Visafi's visa bot was taking orders from the whole internet

Visafi's website is a front desk. Fill in a visa request and a second machine on AWS does the real work: a browser bot that completes the forms for you. That bot was driven by a Selenium Grid hub, and the hub was listening on port 8080, on a public IP, with no password. Remote control of real browsers, on their infrastructure, handed to anyone who found the port.

03/How it goes down

Step 01

Watch

Every deploy you push, every subdomain you spin up and forget. Somebody is always watching your perimeter. Today it is us.

Step 02

Break

Your security team says it is fine. Your auditors signed it off. Your keys were in the bundle the whole time.

Step 03

Expose

Then it goes on the board. Your name, your mistake, the receipts. Everyone gets to read it.

04/Message to the industry

You spent millions on firewalls and left the keys under the mat.

Every company on this board said security was a priority. Every one of them had a press release about it. None of them read their own JavaScript.
